We slept in a big longer this morning, went to the train station for something to eat…a pastry, a pretel and 2 coffees about $15...but I did find a cache there that I hadn’t found yesterday,,,,the day is starting well.
Then off we went with our free transit pass from the hotel to the University Botanical Garden to see the Agava plant blooming and their conservatory and other greenhouses and gardens…Sheryl was very happy….she loves everything about plants. A very interesting place.

We spent the rest of the day walking the quaint streets of Old Town Basel, taking lots of picures, finding a couple of more caches. The streets here are a little more hilly than any of the other towns/cities I have visited.

Basel is also on the Rhine…so we really are a couple of hundred kilometres from our little cruise on the Rhine last week. Here we watched them swim or rather float down the swiftly flowing river…most attached to some kind of floaters…they were far away so we couldn’t see very well. We didn’t know where they ended up.
Later in the afternoon….just as we were getting tired, the rain started….and again the lightning and thunder…..The tram that we took back put us right in front our hotel where we are now relaxing, getting the blog caught up, answering email and watching TV. Resting up for the next part of our trip…..Paris
